Our department started education within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2009. Our department was established primarily to prepare a good foundation for all areas of mathematics. In our department, the curricula of the mathematics department taught in our country and all over Europe are implemented. In addition, the mathematical knowledge gained theoretically with the help of basic computer use, up-to-date computer programs such as Matlab and C++ in the curriculum of our department is put into practice, and the areas of use of mathematics in daily life are given to the students. As a result of all these achievements, students who have received 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) graduate with the title of "Mathematician".
Graduates of the Department of Mathematics can complete the Pedagogical Formation Education in a Faculty of Education and work as a teacher in primary and secondary education institutions and as instructors in private education institutions. In addition, they can find career opportunities in the banking and insurance sectors, in the departments of mathematics and computer-aided solution generation, engineering analysis and design of enterprises. In addition, opportunities to take part in academic study areas such as master's and doctoral studies and research projects are open to them.
