Our Mathematics department commenced its education within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2009. Starting with three faculty members, the department aimed to provide a solid foundational education in a broad spectrum of mathematical subjects.
The department offers various courses in areas such as Analysis and Function Theory, Algebra and Number Theory, Geometry, Topology, and Applied Mathematics under the Bologna framework. Alongside these courses, students are taught basic computer usage and the application of theoretical knowledge using contemporary computer programs like Matlab and C++.
Since 2012, the department has ceased admitting students for the evening program and graduated its first cohort in 2014. Graduates earned the title "Mathematician" by completing 240 ECTS credits.
Initiating master's programs in 2016 and doctoral programs in 2018 under the auspices of the Institute of Natural Sciences, the department provides opportunities to elevate undergraduate education to advanced levels. The master's program produced its first graduates in 2018, while the doctoral program has yet to graduate students.
The department facilitates opportunities for domestic and international education through the Farabi exchange program, international collaboration projects, Erasmus, and Mevlana exchange programs.
Currently consisting of nine faculty members and one research assistant, the department serves with expertise in Analysis and Function Theory, Algebra and Number Theory, Geometry, Applied Mathematics, and Topology. With this rich academic staff and a wide range of programs, our mathematics department offers students comprehensive mathematical education. The graduation tradition that began in 2014 is a testament to the department's achievements.
